Fellowship Work Summary, 1997–98
Narendra Panjwani worked on his project, a book of semi‑sociological, semi‑literary essays on popular Indian cinema in the first twenty‑five years after the country became independent in 1947. He gave seminars or lectures at the Film/Video School at Duke University; the School of Religion and South Asian Studies at Emory University; and the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
